TSO Auditions
The Topeka Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to encouraging and cultivating appreciation and support for fine music in northeast Kansas. Its mission is to present performances of high quality and to provide educational and performance opportunities for youth
The following positions will be auditioned on the following dates:
August 24, 2026
August 25, 2026
All auditions will take place on the campus of Washburn University in Topeka, KS on the aforementioned dates between 5pm-10pm. We are not accepting recorded auditions at this time. Due to the limited time and number of applicants, please apply only if you are willing to accept the position.

Deadline for Applications is 12:00am on August 10, 2026.
Audition day information will be e-mailed to applicants the week prior to auditions.
Applications must be complete in order to be considered for any open positions.

26-27 Season Information
- The Topeka Symphony is a per service orchestra, offering upwards of 40 services in a season.
- Service Rates for the 2026-2027 Season are as follows: $61 (Section), $65 (Assistant Principal), $77 (Principal)
- Mileage Stipends are provided under the following guidelines: $17 per service for musicians between 10 – 50 miles from Topeka, and $25 per service for musicians traveling greater than 50 miles from Topeka.
- The orchestra is under negotiations for lodging accommodations for the 26-27 season. At the moment, lodging is not available.
