How to Order Tickets:
Buy tickets online or charge by phone at the TSO Office, (785) 232-2032. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Major Credit Cards accepted. Email the TSO office or fax (785) 232-6204.
Box Office:
Tickets may be purchased at the site of the performance one hour prior to the concert.

Job Posting: Executive Director

 
The Topeka Symphony Society (TSS) of Topeka, Kansas, is seeking to hire an Executive Director (ED).

Job Description
The ED of the TSS is responsible for implementation of policies set by the TSS Board of Directors (Board) as well as annual goals and objectives and the administrative and financial management of the organization. The ED develops and executes strategic, fundraising, tactical, communication, and marketing plans to increase visibility, membership, and support of the Topeka Symphony Orchestra. The ED manages a small administrative staff, works with the Music Director and Conductor, and serves as a liaison between the staff and the Board. The ED acts as a spokesperson on behalf of the Board and the organization.

The TSS is a not-for-profit organization and was created in 1952.  The mission of the TSS is to encourage and cultivate appreciation and support for fine music in northeast Kansas by presenting performances of high quality and by providing educational and performance opportunities for youth.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to the organization’s mission
  • A record of fundraising experience and success
  • Skill in developing and implementing big picture plans for an organization
  • Self-motivated and a high level of attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Financial and budget literacy
  • Prior experience with a musical or fine arts organization
  • Prior management experience

Hours and Compensation
This is a full-time position with a starting annual salary of $70,000.

The greater Topeka area is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family.  There is a substantial arts community in the area with a wide range of arts and entertainment opportunities. The cost of living is relatively low, making the Topeka area a very affordable place to live.
